Chronicle

In the wake of twilight, When memories stir you
Unwrap the book of a soul, A sketch have been carved
Unravel a chronicle of its painter, Hidden in the canvas

Moments of lonely summer days, tumultuous rainy evenings
Craving for someone to hold, in freezing winter nights
Etched in the canvas, She painted it with words

Distance would be crossed, separated by life and death
Caress the words, You will feel her pounding heart
Smell the pages, Breathe in her feelings

Lifetime she has woven, It’s her mirror image
You will understand her, Love her more than you did
She sketched it for you, It had always been only for you

If smile brightens your eyes, It’s her smile for you
If it saddens, remember it would be only her sadness
Tears smudged in words, The ones she couldn’t hold

Her soul thrives in her memorabilia, Kept hidden in her lifetime
If you see her spirit between the lines, She will rest in peace
Wrap the chronicle as the twilight sleeps, Rest embracing her memories

  5. Hmmm...

its always someone, or something. we tend to put in the feelings into what we know the best...paint the words on the canvas of life, for all it may be just random, but the one know reads, will see through it...

  6. We strive for something we like. Cry for it if it's lost.
Connection is eerie, feelings are peculiar.
    This is what we are.

  7. Love the art, not the artist.

So much as we try to deny it, some pages with lives inked on them just make us fall in love with the one who wrote them, or the personification is so profound that we are made to believe that they exist even now.

    Nice post.

    Cheers,

I have a doubt when you say the one who reads will see through it. I am not nurturing any expectations on that.

So just to satisfy myself that it will someday, have penned down.

  18. I can't actually pinpoint how I feel. And that is a good thing. It means something untouched has been touched. And something has been revealed. What exactly, I can't say.

Every stanza is dipped with words which have been chosen with precision. More importantly, every verse is complete in itself. It does not need the support of words before and after to make meaning. And the complete chronicle is more than the sum of its parts. Much much more!!

    Great Going Doctor.. :-)

  26. an art says a lot about the artist only if we could look close and right...a beautiful poem on the whole but this verse was like 'this was it'...If smile brightens your eyes, It’s her smile for you
If it saddens, remember it would be only her sadness
Tears smudged in words, The ones she couldn’t hold...lovely write...:)
